You've done a lot as it is, Obi-Wan-san, you should rest.

I'm afraid I rarely have the time.

Rarely, however, doesn't mean NEVER. So, I mean, at the very least, let me handle the fires for a while. Please believe I can handle whatever he may throw.

You should do something that makes you, you know, smile.

I smile very often.

I mean more... you should do something that's just for you, something that makes you happy and relaxed, not that you don't smile.

I know the world is falling apart but even Jedi must need breaks from saving everyone. Even if it's just an hour, it should be an hour of something that just makes you feel happy.

[ that's good advice and it's true. but obi-wan feels the sting of failure too close and too keenly. if he closes his eyes, qui-gon dies. satine dies. anakin dies. he can't. he can't. ]

We come to serve.

You can put serving on hold for an hour. Just... ONE hour, please? And maybe you're not done, but you're not alone, either. Whatever it is, I could help. Or, if you don't trust me to do it, the other Jedi.

Besides, the Force is about balance, right? [Maul has said as much in so many ways.] How can you be balanced if you only give and give and give? Eventually, even YOU would run out of being able to give. So take a little bit of time for yourself, then you can go right back to giving to others.
